We all know a relationship breakup can be tough and everyone has their way of dealing with it effectively. Not all approaches may be right for you in the long run just like eating too much junk food. While it may feel like you need to do this to fill the hole the breakup has left, its just not the answer. The only way you can mend that feeling is by working towards getting over your ex and being your own person with a big future ahead of you.
When we’re in a relationship we often like to schedule our time around our other half. After a breakup there is a feeling of being lost and not knowing what to do with the spare time you now have. By thinking positively about what it is that can take up this free time you are one step closer to getting over him.
Looking back have you ever been on a date or heard of a date being ruined because of a mad ex girlfriend? Someone who continued to call him all the time, posting things on his social media pages and just not leaving the man alone. Don’t let yourself be this woman who can’t get over her ex to the point where it has taken over her life. You may have a friend that doesn’t trust being in a relationship because they have been hurt too much and they don’t even try to date or develop new relationships. These are just two examples of how it can get if you don’t let yourself get over your ex partner and move on, and really no one wants to be stuck in that place for the rest of their life.
So, what do you do to get over a man effectively?
We all have our ways when it comes to dealing with the a breakup of a once loving relationship and not all may fit your personal circumstances. What you must try to do is give them all a go and see which is more beneficial to you and your situation. Here are a few things to try when it comes to getting over your ex quickly.
1. Stick by the No Contact rule.
This is a widely used method when it comes to getting over and ex partner and can actually help towards getting them back. What this involves is basically not making any contact of any form such as phone, text, email and social media profiles. Some may feel this is a little over the top, but in fact the less contact you have with your ex the less you will think about him leading you to getting over him much faster. When you think about this whole method it actually makes sense as you are trying to get over this person the last thing you want is to keep reminding yourself of them. So by cutting all contact, and this does not have to be on a permanent basis but at least give it two weeks, you will start to see a change for the better.
2. Let yourself be upset and release the pent-up emotions inside.
Right now you emotions are all over the place you may be feeling angry, depressed, confused, upset and maybe for some you may actually feel a little bit happy. Whatever it is that you are feeling let it out in the open. If you want to eat a whole box of chocolates in your PJ’s then go right ahead. If you want to cry it’s perfectly natural to do so. What you must not do is dwell on these negative emotions and don’t mope about for more than a couple of days. Don’t let the end of a relationship overtake the lifestyle you had because negative behaviors become habits that are hard to break and will not lead you to getting over your ex any quicker.
3. Keep healthy and active.
A breakup can really knock you health off course both mentally and physically. Studies show that one of the best ways to overcome depression, release tension and feel a lot better about yourself is to exercise. This doesn’t mean you have to be down at the gym every time you get a spare hour, any form of physical exercise can benefit you as part of your lifestyle. When taking up some form of exercise make sure to give yourself at least 45 minutes 4 times a week for best results. There are a lot of us out there who hate gyms and that’s perfectly alright as there are plenty of other ways to get the blood pumping such as running around the block, riding a bike, playing a sport or simply going for a long walk. Whatever you do make sure to get the heart pumping and you will feel the benefits.
4. Go out more often.
When a breakup has happened we don’t feel like seeing anyone even if it’s our closest friends and family. In fact, the opposite is actually more helpful to you as being around people really helps to bring up your self-esteem. Also by talking to someone thoughts get a little easier. So start by calling your friends and arranging a time to meet up and go out for the night or just for an afternoon tea whatever you decide it will be the best thing you could do for yourself.
If there’s a part of you that wants to go further and start to meet new people and socialize in new groups, then there are many sites on the internet that can introduce you to these things. Websites like meetup.com and Facebook can provide you with information on where to go to meet new people and take part in interesting things in your area. So begin by writing down what it is that you like doing and search for a group of people who enjoy the same things. You may feel a little shy at first when it comes to joining new social groups and meeting people, but keep in mind that by doing this and making new friends it will help you in getting over your ex boyfriend quickly.
Remember, it takes time to heal after a breakup and move on with our lives effectively. It might only take you a week to get over your ex and for others it may take a few months. However long it takes, stick with moving forward and if you’ve tried these tips and still feel bad, keep on going with it because it really is worth the time to lead a happy life without your ex.
